Parker’s CEO, Greg Parker understands that education is the rising tide that lifts all ships. It’s the key to future success and the smartest investment in a community. Our Fueling the Community program gives back to area schools in every community where Parker’s does business. We’re committed to making education, healthcare and culture accessible to everyone in our region.
That’s why we proudly donate one cent from every gallon of gas purchased at all of our convenience stores on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools through our Fueling the Community program. This charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and distributes over $200,000 per year to public and private schools throughout Georgia and South Carolina. As a locally owned and operated company, we recognize the importance of giving back to the communities where our customers and employees live and work.
Parker’s customers can sign up for a PumpPal card online to select a specific school for their one cent per gallon donation. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select their preferred school here.
In 2014, we decided to expand our community outreach beyond education. We provided a $1 million donation to help begin a major renovation and expansion of Memorial Health’s emergency department and Level 1 trauma center in the heart of Savannah, Ga. The center has been named the Parker’s Emergency & Trauma Center in honor of Parker’s Convenience Stores.
In 2018, Parker’s donated $5,000,000 to Georgia Southern University to fund the Parker College of Business. One of our guiding principles is serving our community, specifically through funding for better education. By investing in GSU we’re investing in the future of our local business community.
Education and health are imperative to a community, and we’re proud to regularly contribute to both. Remember to fuel up at Parker’s on the first Wednesday of each month to help us keep giving back to area schools and medical centers!
